Announcement of the Hong Kong Engineering Science and Technology (HKEST) Award 2024-25
Hong Kong, 25 March 2025 – The Hong Kong Academy of Engineering (HKAE) is pleased to announce the winners of the prestigious Hong Kong Engineering Science and Technology (HKEST) Award 2024-25. Following the assessments and interviews by the Selection Committee, the following distinguished individuals/teams have been honoured with this year’s award, in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments in engineering, science and technology innovation.

Ir Dr Alex Chan, President of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering, extended his warmest congratulations to the winners and remarked, “This year’s HKEST Award witnessed strong competition, with the highest number of nominations since its establishment in 2022. This reflects the widespread recognition the award has earned and underscores the growing excellence within the field. We hope that the young talent in Hong Kong will continue to drive innovation and make positive contributions to society through engineering.”
The award presentation ceremony will take place in late May 2025, at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The event will also feature the distinguished lectures, highlighting the significant contributions of our awardees to engineering and technology. Further details regarding the ceremony and the distinguished lectures will be announced soon.

About the HKEST Award
The Hong Kong Engineering Science and Technology (HKEST) Award was established in 2022 to recognize and honour the exceptional accomplishments of young scientists, engineers, and technologists (aged 45 or below) who have demonstrated remarkable talent, dedication, and influence in the field of engineering science and technology within Hong Kong. With the support of the Innovation and Technology Commission, HKSAR, the award has now entered its third round, with a total of 14 outstanding awardees recognized since 2022. All awardees are emerging leaders, talented scholars, engineers, and industrial experts who have made profound impacts in engineering science and technology across various sectors.
