Prof. Cao is an internationally renowned scholar in distributed systems, mobile computing and wireless networking and big data analytics. His’s distinctive contributions include distributed algorithms for mobile computing, wireless sensor networks for engineering applications, and big data analytics for real-world systems. His research has significant impact in engineering practices such as new paradigms, and models and applications for Internet computing, IoT, mobile cloud and edge computing, engineering innovation, and big data empowered urban resource management. Prof. Cao has also demonstrated strong leadership in research and innovation, establishing and leading university research institutes / centers and managing many interdisciplinary projects.
