Ir. Alex Kwan is Vice Chairman, Hong Kong of Asia Infrastructure Solutions Ltd, a member company of Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), which is a global engineering and construction firm with annual revenue of USD16 billion, after stepping down from Asia CEO role. Ir Kwan started GISI Asia operations from the scratch and built a strong team of over 1,500 staff with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, mainland China, Malaysia and Vietnam. Prior to joining GISI, Alex was the Executive Director (Engineering & Technology) of the Airport Authority. In addition to delivering annual capital work investment of about US$1 billion and maintenance expenditure of US$150 million, he was responsible for applying innovation and technology to advance Hong Kong International Airport’s smart airport vision. Before joining the Airport Authority, he was the Chief Executive of AECOM Greater China, responsible for strategic growth and operation of AECOM’s business in Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan with a staff of over 7,000 people.
Alex is currently a member of Construction Innovation and Technology Fund Steering Committee, Hong Kong Centre for Logistics Robotics Board, Advisory Council on the Environment and Energy Advisory Committee. He was a council member of HK’s Construction Industry Council (CIC) and Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He was the Chairman of Association of Consulting Engineers in Hong Kong, Institute of Water and Environment Management (Hong Kong Branch), and Hong Kong University Engineering Alumni Association. He also served in the departmental advisory committees for universities including University of HK and HK University of Science and Technology.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering (with Distinction) from the Imperial College, London. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.
