Professor Jianguo Lin is a chair professor in Materials Technologies at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, has published over 300 research papers and 20 patents. Most of his patents have been used in practice and generated wealth worldwide.
Previously, he held academic positions at Imperial College London (2008-2024) and the University of Birmingham (1996-2008). He has established a number of industrial sponsored research/innovation centres and a Metal Forming and Materials Modelling research Group at Imperial College, which provided innovative solutions for metal forming and materials processing industry globally. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2013.
