QS Ranking of UGC and Self-financing Universities in HKSAR
On behalf of Council, I would like to congratulate the following universities of the Hong Kong SAR and associated HKAE Fellows on their achievements under the QS World University Rankings 2027 announced last week.
- The University of Hong Kong, ranked no. 11.
- The Chinese University of Hong Kong, ranked no. 18.
- The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, ranked no. 33.
- The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, ranked no. 50.
- The City University of Hong Kong, ranked no. 52.
We are proud to witness the achievements of the top five UGC universities within the top 100 ranking and the top four within top 50 ranking. The remaining three UGC universities had also achieved good rankings, namely the Hong Kong Baptist University, ranked 216, the Hong Kong Education University, ranked 406 and the Lingnan University, ranked 581.
It is also worth mentioning that the Hong Kong Metropolitan University, a self-financing post-secondary education institution in Hong Kong was ranked within 781~790 among the ~1500 tertiary institutions. They are also one of the University of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Hong Kong.
HKAE wish to congratulate the above-mentioned UGC and self-financing universities on their achievements in research and translation to build a better living and working environment for the world. We also appeal to these academics and scholars, with some of them being Fellows of HKAE, to work together to support the technological advancement and continuous prosperity of Hong Kong and the Mainland.
