Profile

Jonathan is a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and School of Life Sciences (by courtesy) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He inaugurated the first lab in nanoparticle-based drug delivery in Hong Kong in 2013 and co-founded CUHK Department of Biomedical Engineering in 2017. His team investigates how nanoparticles interact with the body across the length scales of organ, tissue, cell, organelle, and receptor. Accordingly, his team develops strategies for delivering nanotherapeutics to various challenging diseased sites, including psoriatic skin, atherosclerotic plaques, fibrotic kidneys, degenerative brain, and inflamed lungs. He is on the editorial advisory board of ACS Nano Medicine.
