Profile

As a member of the original RISC-V project team and a founding board member of RISC-V International, Dr. Tan played a pivotal role in the creation and development of the RISC-V architecture. He was deeply involved in introducing this architecture to China, contributing to its growth and advancement in the region. He also remains a member of the RISC-V International Technical Steering Committee, and is the founder of RIVAI, a pioneering RISC-V CPU chip design company in China. As the founder of OURS, he served also as chief architect and has established the company as a front-runner in the field of FMCW LiDAR technology. The product he participated as lead designer/architect, FlashBlade, generates revenue in excess of one billion dollars yearly for Pure Storage. Dr. Tan's pedagogical approach is centered on cultivating the next generation of semi-conductor industry leaders, whom has already garnered the attention of the U.S. Congress upon their prizes in 7nm chip design competitions.
