Prof. Chu is an Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Hong Kong, holding a joint appointment in the School of Biomedical Engineering. He earned his B.S. from Northwest University (China) and a Ph.D. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Stuttgart. His pioneering research in CVD diamond, nanodiamonds, NV centers, quantum sensing, and diamond semiconductors has earned high acclaim. This includes a Falling Walls Breakthrough of the Year Award, China’s Top 10 Scientific Advances, and multiple Geneva Gold Medals.
