Profile

Professor Dangyuan Lei is Professor in the Departments of Materials Science and Engineering and Physics at City University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on quantum nano-photonics and plasmonics, nonlinear light–matter interactions, meta-surfaces, radiative cooling, and low-dimensional semiconductor photonics. He has published over 280 peer-reviewed papers, received about 20,000 citations (h-index 77), and has been recognized as a World's Top 0.5% Highly Cited Scholar (ScholarGPS, 2025). His work bridges fundamental photonics and advanced functional materials for applications in energy, imaging, sensing, and optoelectronic devices. He is a Fellow of SPIE and a Senior Member of Optica (formally OSA).
